 Curriculum Vitae

Tracey comes to Indiana Wesleyan with 10 years of higher education experience and a variety of social work experiences after her Master’s Degree including public school, case management, clinical and policy. Prior to earning her social work degree Tracey spent three years working with older adults in the community and as a Home Health Aide.  All her experiences are targeted to working with families and communities. Tracey’s passion for community opened many doors including leading the Local Program Unit of National Association of Social Work Fayetteville, North Carolina Chapter and leading students as advisor to the Social Work Club. Tracey’s passion also extends to International Social Work and Interprofessional Simulation and Experimental Teaching and Learning where she developed and facilitated a study abroad program to St. Lucia in 2015. The program ran at least once a year for students and faculty members with an interdisciplinary focus for faculty and interprofessional teaching focus for students. While at Methodist University Tracey also became a certified Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Trainer and completed a Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) to assist with the development of SMART programs on campus and in the community. Tracey’s experiences led her into her role as Field Education Director Methodist University Social Work Program before coming to IWU. As Field Director of the Social Work Programs Tracey was able to continue working with community agencies and students while still teaching in the classroom. In June 2021 Tracey took on a new challenge to enter the Hoosier family as Assistant Professor of Social Work.
