Jeannie Short

Biography

Short's nursing career has predominantly been in the maternal/child area. She has had several roles in her 25-year experience as a clinical RN. She enjoyed many years as a staff nurse in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She also had the opportunity to serve in a clinical charge role and practice facilitator role. Along with these leadership positions, she was able to serve as a supervisor in the maternal/child service line on the night shift. Her final 8 years of hospital employment involved being the NICU clinical educator.

She currently holds the title of Assistant Professor in the Post-Licensure Nursing Program at IWU. She took this full-time faculty position in the summer of 2004 and predominantly teaches the introductory, leadership and management, and capstone courses. She finds a great deal of joy and satisfaction in developing students in scholarship, leadership, and Christian character.
