Biography

Dr. Newbanks served as a Medical/Surgical  nurse from 1993-1995 and as an Oncology Nurse from 1995-2008. She and her late husband were in the pastoral ministry for 30 years (1974-2004). After completing her Masters in Nursing Education in 2010, she began teaching as an adjunct for the Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) and the Muskingum University Schools of Nursing. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Faculty Development for the School of Nursing at IWU.

Dr. Newbanks has presented her research at several nursing conferences within the United States. Research areas include Spiritual Care in Nursing, Caring in Nursing, Ethics in Nursing, Faculty Development, and Student Writing Skills. She is published in the Journal of Christian Nursing and in the Journal of Nursing Education
