Nathan Fayard

Dr. Nathan Fayard is an assistant professor of English who has been teaching for over a decade.  He hails originally from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, and before he came to academia, he had a number of adventures, from running a small dock on the Coast while haggling with shrimpers to working as a reporter and critic in London. He discovered his love for liberal arts education while getting his BA at Samford University, and he continued his academic quest by getting his MA in Romantic literature from the University of Illinois.  He was interested in the concept of heroism, and he found himself chasing it further and further back through the ages until he finally fell into medieval studies, earning his PhD in medieval literature from the University of Arkansas, specializing in Old English literature and medievalism.  When left to his own devices, he can usually be found on the trail, in the water, or settling in with a good book, and he loves heroic stories of all shapes and sizes, whether they are about Achilles or Aquaman.
