Joshua Ostrander received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2014. Immediately following, he joined Dr. Martin Zanni’s laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for his dissertation research on the technical development of femtosecond multidimensional infrared spectroscopy and its application to scientific problems in materials science and biophysics. He received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry in 2019 and joined the faculty at IWU as an assistant professor. His current research interests include the study of interfacial chemistry in electrochemical cells. He is also interested in further expanding the toolkit of spectroscopic imaging for biologists, chemists, and materials scientists. In the classroom, Joshua is interested in incorporating computational chemistry and computer programming in the General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry curriculum.
