Dr. Jooyoung Kim has been critically acclaimed on international stages for her dazzling technique and superb musicianship. Since making her debut at the age of twelve as a soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Kim has presented numerous solo and chamber recitals on a number of notable concert series including 2017 Korea/Japan Concert Tour, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, The Pianists of the World Series at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Les George V Concert Series, Atelier Concert Series, PianoForte Salon Series, just to name a few. She has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras including the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Yonsei Sinfonietta, Yale University Symphony Orchestra, and the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, among others. Her performances have been broadcasted live on the radio stations in the U.S. She has also given guest artist recitals and master classes in colleges and universities. Dr. Kim has won top prizes in numerous national and international competitions, and was invited to perform as a prizewinner of many international competitions in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Chicago Cultural Center, Falcone-Borsellino Hall, Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall, Kaluga Philharmonic Hall, and Sejong Cultural Center. As an active recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician, Dr. Kim has presented in various music festivals and conferences including Spain International Piano Festival, Courchevel International Music Festival, Internationale Klavierakademie Murrhardt, Benefic Chamber Music Camp, Festival of New Music, Wisconsin Flute Festival, Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention, and Aria International Summer Academy. Dr. Kim’s passion for contemporary music has led her to numerous opportunities in this field, collaborating with living composers and giving premieres of new compositions nationally and internationally. Dr. Kim earned degrees in piano performance from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, the Universität der Künste in Berlin, Germany, and Ball State University. Dr. Kim is Adjunct Piano Professor and Collaborative Pianist at Indiana Wesleyan University as well as a founding member of Trio Harmonia.
