Gregory Fiebig

Biography

Dr. Greg Fiebig is an experienced professional in directing, acting, communication scholarship and teaching. He’s served as theatre technical director for both Indiana Wesleyan University and Southwest Baptist University, directing over 26 shows across the country.

During his six months sabbatical in New York City, he worked with a midtown church to develop a performing art ministry, establish a church-based producing theatre company, and build bridges between the church and performing artists. 

Dr. Fiebig is the founder and executive director of Hoosier Shakes, a professional summer stock repertory theatre in Marion, Indiana. He was invited to establish a consortium between ASC and a limited number of colleges and universities across the United States and around the world.

Why did you decide to teach at IWU?

When I came to visit IWU, I landed in Indianapolis during a blizzard. I drove on the campus about 11 p.m., and the snow stopped. I interviewed the next day from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.. It was all a whirlwind of a visit, but somehow I knew even before the day-long interview process commenced that IWU was where God was leading me. I felt something of a confirmation from God when I drove onto the campus. One by one, other doors were closed, which confirmed what I already knew spiritually; God was leading me to IWU.

Advice for a prospective student:

Welcome to the best academic discipline on campus. Rest well, study hard and keep the faith. Effort does not equal excellence.
