Biography
Gene Ann Shapinsky began teaching in the Post-Licensure Nursing program at Indiana Wesleyan University's School of Nursing in 2001 as an adjunct faculty member at the Louisville Center. She has facilitated classes at the Florence and Lexington campuses as well and currently serves as an online instructor. Gene Ann became a full-time faculty member in the Post-licensure (RNBSN) Program in 2011. She has over 40 years of nursing experience, first working in acute care in the Emergency Department before moving into higher education in 1988.
Interests
Gene Ann’s research interests are student and program related. Her dissertation focused on programmatic variables that affected NCLEX pass rates in nursing students. She served as an accreditation surveyor for 6 years with the NLNAC. Gene Ann is active in her church and local community and enjoys doing volunteer work in her local school district.
