For more than three decades the Rev. Dr. Constance Cherry has served the church in various full-time ministries including: director of worship and music, pastor, and professor in the academy. In addition to teaching regularly at The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies, she teaches in various international settings and speaks at conferences. Her latest publication is The Worship Architect: A Blueprint for Designing Culturally Relevant and Biblically Faithful Services (Baker Academic, 2010).


Constance Cherry is a published author, composer, and hymnist. Her areas of expertise include Christian worship (particularly addressed within the discipline of practical theology), music in worship and liturgy, and congregational song. In addition to her recently released book on worship, her publications include choral anthems, a children's musical, service music, articles in journals, and a chapter in a book. Her hymn texts presently appear in six major denominational hymnals.
