Indiana Wesleyan University’s MSW Program Director and Associate Professor, Dr. Annette Anderson-Engler also serves on the faculty advisory council for The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), assigned to the criterion of teaching and learning, evaluation and improvement. She serves on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Social Work in the Global Community (JSWGC) is a recipient of a three-year international scholarship through the Körber Stiftung Foundation in Hamburg, Germany. Other accomplishments include working with the University of Oslo and the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) in Norway. Dr. Anderson-Engler currently serves as Global Core and Educational Research member at Columbia University, New York, in their Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies Program. She holds active membership with National Association of Social Workers (NASW), North American Association of Christians in Social Work (NACSW), Society of Public Health Education (SOPHE) and is a published author.

Research Interests

Autobiographical, Biographical and Narrative research. Her research also includes, storytelling dialogue; grief, trauma, and ambiguous loss; emotional regulation; transgenerational transmission of trauma; emotional transmission, identity displacement and cultural oppression; social and collective identities among marginalized groups; women’s issues; reducing health disparities and eliminating health inequities among older adults.
