Why Chemistry?
We are often asked, "What can I do with a Chemistry degree?" As with most other majors, there are many more options available than seems obvious at first glance. While many of our Chemistry majors do go on to graduate or medical school followed by occupations as professional scientists and doctors, that is not a true picture of the spectrum of pathways from which you can choose.
Here are some options for those with a Chemistry degree (most require more than just a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry):

Thus, while laboratory research, teaching and health care seem to be the only likely careers, the options are really pretty broad. Given the small number of people who are willing to undergo the rigors of majoring in Chemistry, the job market is good. Furthermore, the stipends available to pay you for going to graduate school to prepare for many of these roles can be quite lucrative.
