School of Educational Leadership. A Path for You, A Path Forward. Doctor of Education (EdD), Education Specialist Degree (EdS), Master's Degree, Initial License, Associate Degree

The mission of the Indiana Wesleyan University School of Educational Leadership is to be the leader in providing Christ-centered education programs that address the spiritual and professional challenges of P-12 educators, leaders, and counselors by providing them with an integrated experience of character, scholarship, and leadership development. We offer dynamic programs that serve to apply this mission by drawing teachers, administrators, and other school personnel into an integrated experience of intellectual challenge, spiritual growth, and leadership development. Our programs call candidates to Christian character and academic excellence, equip them for success in their disciplines, mentor them in leadership, and prepare them for service.

Through the IWU School of Educational Leadership, we offer a variety of Adult Education Programs to help you meet your own personal and professional goals:

Education Specialist

Graduate Certificates

Our generous transfer policy means that eligible students may be able to enter a program at IWU in advanced standing, shortening their time to completion and saving them money on their education. IWU’s partnerships with other institutions also provide pathways to bachelor’s degree completion, meaning an easier transition to IWU. Talk to one of our program representatives to learn more.

Teacher License Renewal and Professionalization

IWU offers Teacher License Renewal services to classroom teachers and for renewal and professionalization of Indiana teaching certificates. For Indiana teachers, IWU participates in Indiana's online license processing system allowing teachers to significantly reduce the amount of time associated with license renewal.

Continuing Studies for Licensed Teachers and Leaders

We also offer a variety of Professional Development courses for the ongoing professional development of P-12 teachers, including Continuing Studies and Performance Learning Systems (PLS), and even Add-On Electives.

Micro-Credentials for Educators

Through GEER funding, IWU is developing a pathway that allows educators to be equipped with the skills most needed to teach online during a pandemic and into the future of e-learning, while also providing a series of credentials to help interested teachers continue their education.

EPP Annual Reporting

The Educator Preparation Programs at IWU provide data for Annual Reporting Measures for both initial and advanced state licensure. These programs report annually providing information about program completers, including data regarding their impact on P-12 learning and development, teacher effectiveness, the satisfaction of completers and employers, Title II data, and other measures.

Is God leading you to further your education? We can help you make it happen.
