Biography

JaniceDr. Janice Spangenburg began her career in the Navy where she spent five honorable years on active duty. She transitioned to the Department of Defense in a federal service position and, a few year later, began teaching as an adjunct professor of business. Dr. Spangenburg has a wealth of management experience including the management of supply and logistics, program management, management consulting, budgeting and retail business. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants. 

In the course of Dr. Spangenburg’s fourteen years in higher education, she worked as an Academic Department Chair for an HR/OB program and developed curriculum for the program. She served on the Board of Directors for a Va Credit Union and is currently a mentor and advisor to government organizations. Dr. Spangenburg claims her personal philosophy is based on the Greenleaf Servant Leadership Model, and her success is founded on those principles. Dr. Spangenburg is extensively published in the areas of change, management, business and leadership.

Engagement & Community

Dr. Spangenburg enjoys serving her community in various ways.  She is the commander of the Neighborhood Watch Program and gives out food baskets during the holidays.  She also assists others in finding homes and safe places to live and leads a team each year in the Relay for Life.  Dr. Spangenburg participates in social change by being a community betterment steward, giving to the poor and the needy, as well as helping them through seminars and job skills training.
