Word from the VPAA

“God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them.” – 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

We take the charge of being Christ’s representatives seriously.  Part of this charge is preparing the next generation to be world-changing nurses.  Through intellectual challenge, professional growth, and leadership development we aim to make this happen.  One of the unique aspects of our programs is the intercultural experience.

Since 2016, the School of Nursing has been sending a team of nursing students to the island of LaGonave for a semester abroad transcultural nursing experience.  Wesleyan University of Haiti College of Nursing Sciences is on the island of LaGonave. It is with great pleasure that we were able to send a team down to Haiti in January to celebrate the first graduating class from the College of Nursing Sciences with 21 graduates.

As always, the School of Nursing at IWU is on the move.  Be on the lookout for more updates from us.

Sincerely,

Barbara Ihrke sig
