Biography

Dr. Thompson conducts the IWU Orchestra, Early Music Ensemble, and Opera. He teaches violin and viola lessons, music history, and symphonic literature. Dr. Thompson is the assistant conductor and concertmaster of the Marion Philharmonic, and directs The 17th-Century Praise Band at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, IN. He lives in Marion with his wife and two sons.

Interests

Dr. Thompson is actively involved in the research of historical performance practice in music. He performs on the Baroque violin with several ensembles in the area. He is also a scholar of musical and liturgical practices of the early Lutheran church.
