Biography

My spiritual journey began when, by God's grace, I was born into a home where both parents were Christians. My father accepted the call to full-time pastoral ministry in the Free Methodist Church when I was four years old. My exposure to the gospel began at a very young age. So as a young boy, in the Free Methodist Church in West Unity, Ohio, I went forward during a service and asked Jesus to come into my heart.

I was fortunate enough to be born into a home where both parents were Christians. As a result, I accepted Christ as my personal savior as a young boy. Since accepting Christ my faith has steadily grown and matured. At certain stages of my life, the growth was much slower and probably not always evident to those who were around me. I am thankful that His grace has been sufficient throughout all the ups and downs and I enjoy a rich and sustaining relationship with Christ.

As a follower of Christ, my relationship with Him is at the center of everything I strive to do and be. I aspire to model Christ and his teachings in all of my relationships. As a believer, follower, and disciple of Christ, I attempt to be faithful in worship, reading, and studying of the scriptures, fellowship with other believers, prayer, tithing, and living my life as a daily sacrifice.

My education includes a BA from Spring Arbor University (Michigan) with a major in Psychology. My master's degree is an MS in Administration with a concentration in human resource management from Central Michigan University. My doctorate is in Organizational Leadership from the University of Sarasota (now Argosy) in Florida.

I have been in higher education since 1991. Most of my years in higher education were spent as an administrator. Currently, I am a full-time faculty member at Indiana Wesleyan University. Before higher education, I owned and operated my own printing business for several years, and held numerous management positions with a variety of companies.

For the last 18 years, I have been teaching non-traditional, working adult students. Typically I teach courses in human resources, organizational behavior, management, and leadership. I have also been known to teach a research design and statistics course now and then. I enjoy teaching in the classroom as well as online. Both modalities offer unique learning opportunities.

I have been married to my wonderful wife for 37 years. She is an accomplished cake decorator by trade. We have two grown sons. I very much enjoy spending time with my family. Otherwise, I enjoy fishing, golf and being in the great outdoors.
