Guidelines for
obtaining facilities services is as easy as 1...2...3
- Determine whether your service request is an emergency
or routine
- An emergency maintenance need should be called in
at extension 2313. After hours and weekends, contact
campus police at extension 2498.
- A routine maintenance request will be entered into
the computer Service Request System.
- A numbered Service Request for your entry is processed
in the computer system.
- Routine maintenance / repair request (e.g. burned-out
lights, leaky faucets) are scheduled in the order received.
Availability of parts affect completion time.
- Emergency work (e.g., power failure, health or safety
hazard, potential damage to facility or equipment) is
scheduled the same day.
- For non-routine projects and those requiring major
repairs and significant capital investment, please contact
your senior level administrator for review.
- For residential students, all routine Service Requests
should be directed to residence life staff.
- Most other maintenance requests are routine
Keys and lock requests:
- All interior facility key and lock requests must be
submitted in writing with the department head's signature;
as well as, your senior level administrator for all
facility keys. Request forms are available at the Department
of Physical Plant main office.
Set-Up Requests
- Five day advance notice is requested for all set-ups.
- Project planning services and procedures
- The university department initiates a written request
to their senior level administrator.
- Upon appropriate administrative approval, Facilities
Services prepares a "scope-of-work" and a detailed cost
estimate.
- The requesting department must identify and secure
a funding source.
- Once approved, the requesting department is notified
of project schedule and approximate project completion
date.
