About the Program
PRELICENSURE PROGRAM
The School of Nursing offers a four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Freshmen Pre-Nursing majors must obtain at least a "C" in four science courses, complete 29 semester hours, pass the University 's math competency requirement, and have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA in order to progress. Students may apply to the Nursing Major as freshmen when they have met these requirements. Students are admitted to the major twice a year. Transfer students should contact the School of Nursing to have science and nursing courses evaluated for transfer.
The Transcultural experience is one of the unique features of Indiana Wesleyan University's Nursing Program. Each student takes a Transcultural Theory course and participates in a Transcultural Practicum. This practicum could consist of working with an inner-city clinic, a health care center in an emerging nation, or a subculture in North America.
