IWU to Dedicate New Academic Building
Indiana
Wesleyan University will dedicate its new Academic Building at 3 p.m. Friday as part of IWU's 2007 Homecoming activities. The $12.5 million building is located at 40th and Washington streets.
The
dedication ceremony is open to the public.
The
academic building houses the Division of Modern Languages, Literature and Communication and the Division of Behavioral Sciences. Studios for the IWU television and radio stations are located in the building.
The
three-story, 66,000-square-foot building also includes 20 classrooms and seminar rooms, more than 50 faculty and staff offices, two lecture halls and two computer laboratories.
The
building opened September 4 when fall semester classes began.
Design
Collaborative, a Fort Wayne architectural and engineering firm, designed the building. The company, which specializes in buildings for colleges and universities, has designed 16 buildings for IWU in the last decade.
Weigand
Construction Co., Fort Wayne, was the construction manager for the project.
