IWU Has Record Enrollment for 20th Straight Year

A
record 14,756 students are enrolled for fall semester classes at Indiana Wesleyan University's three colleges. It is the 20th consecutive year that IWU, now Indiana's largest private college, has reported record enrollment.

The
2007 numbers represent a 6 percent increase from last year's total enrollment of 13,917.

Enrollment
in traditional classes on the Marion campus has increased 4 percent to top 3,000 for the first time. There are 3,050 students enrolled for fall semester classes in Marion, compared to 2,935 students a year ago.

More
students also are living on the Marion campus, 2,382 this year compared to 2,330 a year ago.

Over
the past decade, the balance of students attending classes on IWU's Marion campus has shifted steadily from commuter to residential. In 1997, 60 percent of traditional students lived on campus compared to 78 percent this year.

Enrollment
in IWU's adult education programs, which began in 1985, has reached almost 11,000 students for the first time. Classes for adult students meet at various sites - including 14 regional campuses - in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. About 4,100 adult students are enrolled in online classes.
