1,750 Students to Graduate

eorge F. Allen, a former Republican governor and U.S. Senator from Virginia, will speak at three graduations Saturday at Luckey Arena at Indiana Wesleyan University.

llen also served 10 years in the Virginia General Assembly, where he held Thomas Jefferson’s seat in the House of Delegates. He now is the Reagan Ranch Presidential Scholar for the Young America’s Foundation, which owns the ranch.

ore than 1,750 students will receive degrees in the ceremonies at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday. All but 130 of the December graduates received their degrees through IWU’s various adult education programs.

mong Saturday’s graduates will be Cherry Wu and Stella Li, who teach at international schools in Eastern China. They will travel to Marion to receive their Master of Education degrees in person.

u and Li are among the first graduates of an online master’s program, started two years ago, that IWU designed for teachers at international schools in China.
I
ndiana Wesleyan University also has three graduations in both April and August. Saturday’s graduates will bring to 4,940 the number of students who received IWU degrees in 2007.
