IWU Boosts Financial Aid to Wesleyan Students
By Alan Miller

Indiana Wesleyan University has taken several steps to boost financial aid for Wesleyan students, beginning with the 2005-06 academic year.
3/7/05

Beginning in September:

  • The out-of-state Wesleyan award will increase from $1,200 to $2,000.
  • The Wesleyan pastor dependent award will increase from $1,800 to $2,000.
  • The ministerial loan/grant award will increase from $2,000 to $3,000 for juniors and from $4,000 to $6,000 for seniors.

The first two awards (for out-of-state Wesleyans and dependents of Wesleyan pastors) are given in addition to other grants that may be provided by IWU.

In addition, the first John Wesley scholarships were awarded in the fall of 2004. The scholarships, which are renewable for four years, are specifically for Wesleyan students.

The $1 million John Wesley Scholarship Fund is funded by donations from IWU alumni plus a matching grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc. The John Wesley scholarships also are given in addition to other financial assistance.

Alan Miller is the University Relations Director at Indiana Wesleyan University.
