Record Number of IWU Students Graduate
Almost 1,250 Indiana Wesleyan University students - the most ever in a single day -- received diplomas during three graduation ceremonies April 24 at Luckey Arena, 41st and Nebraska streets, Marion.
The graduates included:
Dr. John C. Maxwell, the author of more than 40 books, will speak at all three graduations. Several of his books on leadership have been on The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal best-seller lists. Maxwell, who speaks in person to more than 600,000 people annually, is a pastor in The Wesleyan Church and serves on IWU's board of trustees. He founded three organizations that are dedicated to helping people maximize their leadership potential and impact their communities. Maxwell and Rev. Dennis Jackson, pastor of Spring Lake (Mich.) Wesleyan Church, received honorary doctorates during the ceremonies. Jackson spoke at IWU's baccalaureate ceremony on April 23. Rebecca Jones from Indianapolis and Amy Kaylor from Montpelier, Ohio, were honored as the co-valedictorians of the graduating class.
