Two IWU Athletes Win Colescott Scholarships Two Indiana Wesleyan University athletes from Grant County received $500 scholarships Sept. 9 during a luncheon at the 14th annual Jack Colescott Athletic Scholarship Golf Tournament at Arbor Trace Golf Club. More than 250 golfers participated in Wednesday's tourney, which has raised more than $500,000 for scholarships since it was established in 1990. The Colescott scholarships are given annually to two athletes from Grant County high schools who go on to participate in athletics at IWU. The tourney is named in honor of Jack Colescott, the long-time basketball coach and athletic director at Marion High School. Colescott, who serves as tourney chairman, is retired from teaching but is an assistant coach of the Mississinewa High School boys' basketball team. |
