Two IWU Administrators Elected to Marion City Council

Two Indiana Wesleyan University administrators, both of them Republicans, were elected to seats on the Marion City Council on Nov. 4.

Dr. Mark Smith, Vice President of the College of Adult and Professional Studies, will represent Ward 6, which includes IWU and adjacent areas. Alan Miller, Director of University Relations, was elected to an at-large seat, which represents the entire city. Republicans won seven seats on the nine-member council.

Wayne Seybold, who attended IWU for one year, was elected Marion mayor. Seybold and his sister, Kim Seybold-Catron, were members of the U.S. Figure Skating Team that competed in the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. Seybold also is a Republican.
