Young Michael Callaghan (Chicago area) wrote the following poem shortly before he died of cancer. His father, who helped him finish this poem, handed it to me at a Christian Businessmen's breakfast at the Oaklawn Wesleyan Church (ca. 1983). Radio personality, David Maines, was the speaker. Not aware of the background and content of the poem, I filed this for several days before reading it. However, I can recall in vivid detail pulling this from my organizer and reading Michael's tribute to Christ for the first time. This poem has been shared to audiences nationally ever since.
