Financial Aid for Summer Sessions

IWU does not typically offer financial aid for May term or summer sessions, but it is possible that you may be eligible for some Stafford Loan funds or certain grant money. Please read the information listed below or contact the Financial Aid office for more information.

Grant Money

Tuition Waiver: If you receive a tuition waiver during the academic year, you may receive it for classes taken during May term or summer sessions. The employee who provides your eligibility for this waiver must have completed and submitted the appropriate paperwork to the Human Resources office. Please contact Human Resources directly for more information.

Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) Waiver: If you receive a tuition waiver through the CCCU during the academic year, you may be eligible to receive it for classes you take during May term or summer sessions. Please contact the Financial Aid office for more information.

Pell Grant: If you enroll less than full-time in either the Fall or Spring (or both) semesters, and you received a Pell Grant during those sessions, it is possible that you may have some funds remaining that could be used during May term or summer sessions. Please contact the Financial Aid office for more information.

Campus Challenge (formerly TNT) / Wesleyan Bible Bowl (WBB): If you have been awarded more than $4000 in certificates for either program, you may use some of the additional certificates during May term or summer sessions. Please contact the Financial Aid office for more information.

Loan Money

Federal Direct Loans: You may have some remaining Direct Loan eligibility from the previous academic year which could be used toward your summer classes. In order to qualify, you must have completed a FAFSA and must be taking at least six hours in two or more of these sessisons. If you meet the criteria, please contact a counselor in the Financial Aid office to determine any remaining eligibility.
