Application Process

How to Apply for Financial Aid
  1. Apply and be accepted for admission to IWU. You must be accepted by March 1st prior to fall enrollment to receive the financial aid award.
  2. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or at your high school guidance office, to the federal porcessor as soon as possible after January 1st but before March 10th. The FAFSA must be received by the federal processor by March 10th to receive priority consideration for financial aid.
    1. Be sure to list IWU as one of the schools on the FAFSA. Use code #001822.
    2. Be sure to release the FAFSA information to your state aid agency.
Financial Aid Guidelines
  1. Most types of financial aid require the student to be enrolled full-time each semester (at least 12 hours per semester).
  2. Institutional funds are not awarded to students with less than a 2.00 high school or transfer GPA.
  3. One-half of the total amount is awarded each semester.
  4. To continue to receive aid, the student must make satisfactory progress towards a degree.
