Assessment is the systematic process through which we achieve continuous improvement in our educational programs. Effective assessment can be challenging in detail, but it is simple in concept. We first define the intended learning outcomes of a given program, then measure to see whether our students are achieving the intended learning. Based on the results of our measures we evaluate and improve our curricula, our teaching practice, and our designed learning experiences to better fulfill the educational needs of our students.
