Lonnie Vandeventer is our Adult & Graduate Studies (AGS) Alumni Director. He joined Alumni Relations in March 2007. He is currently working on his MBA at Indiana Wesleyan University and will complete degree requirements in July 2010. He received his BS in Management from IWU in December 2003 and an associate´s degree in Business from IWU in May 2002. Lonnie was the recipient of the Outstanding Professional Award in both instances.

Lonnie has over 30 years of sales and sales management experience in insurance, inside sales, and the customer service arenas. Before coming to IWU he spent nearly two years with Prepress Training Solution, Bloomington, IN helping to lead their sales and customer service division in online, interactive training tutorials specific to the print and graphic design industry working with customers worldwide. Previously he spent time with the University of Phoenix-Indianapolis Campus, Sunrise Greetings, Bloomington, IN and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. Since arriving at IWU, Lonnie has served on numerous committees and helped to lead several projects all while helping to dramatically increase non-traditional alumni involvement in university events and giving.

Lonnie and Janet Vandeventer now reside in Marion, IN near the campus. Lonnie serves as an elder at Unity Christian Church, Marion, IN where he also teaches an adult Sunday school class. Previously, they lived in Martinsville, IN for nearly 30 years where they raised their four sons – Christopher, Clayton, Clark and Carl. Clark, a 2002 IWU graduate, was Lonnie’s motivation for seeking out both his degree pursuits and current position at IWU. Lonnie and Janet also have three grandchildren – Hayden James, Jackson Wayne and Emery Grace with a fourth grandchild on the way.
