Dr. Jim Lo served as a Wesleyan missionary for 13 years in Southern
Africa where he was involved in church planting, directing and writing
study materials for the Regional Theological Education by Extension
program, teaching at Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College and the Evangelical
Bible Seminary of Pietermaritzburg, and editing the Regional magazine,
Ikhwezi.

He has served as the District Superintendent of the Zimbabwe District,
Regional Editor, and Regional Director of Theological Education by Extension of The Wesleyan
Church. Dr. Lo also served one year as Missionary Director in Cambodia where he partnered with
Cambodian Christians in church planting and where he taught at the Campus Crusade Bible
Training Center for Pastors and at the Phnom Penh Bible College.
He holds two master's degrees, an MA in Ministerial Education from Indiana Wesleyan University
(1982) and an MA in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton Graduate School where he received the
H. Wilbert Norton Award for being the best student in the Missions/Intercultural program. In
1998, he received his D.Th. in Practical Theology with a focus on cross-cultural ministries from
the University of South Africa.
Dr. Lo has written the following Theological Education by Extension (TEE) Books for Southern
Africa: A Bible Study for New Converts and A Call To Holiness. Evangel Press has publishing his
TEE book, Philippians and Ephesians and are in the process of publishing his TEE book, "Walking
with God". Wesley Press has published his book, "Compassion in Missions" and will be publishing
his book, "Diversity in the Church", this year. He has also written and illustrated eleven children's
books and written numerous articles.
Jim has been married to Roxene Gerleman Lo since 1976. They have twin sons, who are now
graduates of IWU. Matthew is married to Wendy Ferree. For hobbies, Jim enjoys running (he has
run 3 marathons), drawing, and cooking Chinese food. |
