Dr. Brian Simmons

Dr. Brian Simmons served as superintendent of Heritage Christian Schools in Indianapolis for 10 years. Dr. Simmons,
a native of Elkhart County, has a master's degree in secondary education from Indiana University and a doctorate in
educational administration from Ball State University. He was a teacher and administrator at Elkhart Christian Academy for
14 years before becoming superintendent of Heritage Christian. Before joining IWU full-time, Dr. Simmons was an adjunct
professor in the University's adult education program. He and his wife, Bonnie, have four children. Three of his children
are students at IWU and the fourth is in high school.
