Sports Management

The Indiana Wesleyan University Sports Management program prepares students for careers in the wide and expanding world of sports. Topics of Sports Management that lead to discovery in the classroom include professional sports, intercollegiate athletics, interscholastic sports and youth/community activities. Additional topics include facilities, finance, communication, international sports, sport sociology, business principles and various sports organizations.

The sports industry is a fast-paced and competitive arena. As a Christian university, IWU encourages undergraduate students to display poise and confidence in their approach to this field. Indiana Wesleyan University's Sports Management major provides the student with administrative and supervisory training in the area of sports. With the expanding interest in sports at all levels and the expanding economic impact of sports in our society, there is an expanding list of career opportunities for sports administrators.

The Sports Management major includes general administrative concepts as well as exposure to fundraising, sports information, communication, administration, marketing, and promotions. Students are offered several opportunities to gain practical experience with sport organizations through practicums and internships.
