Theatre

If you're eager to become a better theatrical performer, producer or technician, your timing is perfect. Theatre is thriving at Indiana Wesleyan University with up to six campus productions each year, including two student-led and directed shows as well as various other performance opportunities.

If you are considering entering a program as a theatre major in Indiana, check out IWU. Our Bachelor's degree in theater is the perfect option, no matter what area you want to concentrate in. You may want to be center stage in plays as an actor in drama, comedy, tragedy, musicals or children's theatre. Perhaps you want to work behind the scenes as director, stage manager or techie.

Beyond the core curriculum of the Theatre major, you can choose from three concentrations: Performance Theatre, Technical Theatre or Theatre Management. Depending on the area you are most interested in, you can cater the program to meet your specific passion.

Building on the theoretical strengths of the division core classes, the Theatre major and minor help students develop practical skills and perspectives through their coursework in writing, performance and creative production.

As a Christian university, IWU's Theatre program is designed to sharpen skills and equip students so that they can successfully work as theatre professionals and deliver modern parables that glorify God, integrating the practical application of the art with each student's walk of faith.
