Entrepreneurship

There are more than 25 million small businesses in the U.S. alone. Globally, the number is inestimable. Many successful corporations and non-profit organizations create entrepreneurial teams to stimulate innovation and creative problem-solving. The opportunities for entrepreneurs are literally limitless, both in and out of the corporate world.

Entrepreneurship is not just the purview of business. Churches, non-profit organizations, and even government agencies use entrepreneurial methods to develop fresh ideas, creative problem solving, and innovative ways of doing things.

Can you see yourself developing and implementing a successful business plan? Inventing a new product or creating a new service? Have you dreamed of owning your own business? Do you have drive and ambition? A vision to offer products or services that are different and better than everyone else's? Do you find yourself often thinking that there must be a better way of doing things? If so, you may find that Entrepreneurship is the right major for you.

As a major in the Indiana Wesleyan University Entrepreneurship program, you will learn how to evaluate business opportunities and build successful business plans. You will learn how to navigate the treacherous aspects of finding the right partners, financial resources, employees, and business relationships upon which your success will depend. You will also explore how a Christian worldview will support and guide your endeavors. In short, we will teach you how to bring your dreams to life.

Faculty

Faculty who teach classes in Entrepreneurship have specialized training for those who want to establish their own business. Each faculty member has started his/her own small business and brings practical experience to the classroom. With four student-run businesses on campus (McConn Coffee Company, IWU Mart, and the two IWU.BIZ stores), students have the opportunity to put in practice what they are learning in class with professors who understand the nuances of owning your own business.
