A Business Administration degree can give you a global perspective of business that will empower you to make effective business decisions while considering how change will impact both your customers and your organization. You will also learn to deal effectively with an increasingly complex business environment.

IWU's Bachelor of Science with a major in Business Administration program provides a broad-based education in the theories, principles, and practices of modern business Coursework includes management, decision-making, business communications, managerial accounting and finance, economics, and marketing, with an emphasis on ethics and the technical and leadership skills needed for successful entry-level work in the professional world. Students may also choose to earn an Associate of Science degree for quick entry into the workforce and a foundation for further education, or to minor in Business Administration as a supplement to another IWU major.

Many students choose to combine this major with a second major within the Division of Business or in another field such as Fine Art, Communication Studies, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, History, Leadership, Mathematics, Applied Music, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, or Sports Management.

Major Requirements

Students will take 12 hours of 300- or 400-level courses within the Division of Business. If the student has another major outside the Division of Business, this requirement will be satisfied by 12 hours of 300- or 400-level courses from the other major. In addition to the 12 hours, students must choose one of the following courses:

Business Administration Minor / Associate of Science

Students will also one elective in either BUS, FIN, MKG, MNG, or ACC.

Each faculty member in the Division of Business teaches courses in some facet of Business Administration and claims at least 10 years of experience working in the field of business. These professionals have worked for Fortune 500 companies and businesses listed in the 35 largest U.S. private companies.
