Recreation and Wellness Center
With 117,500 sq. ft., the Recreation
and Wellness Center is the largest structure on campus.
It includes a six-lane, short-course competitive swimming pool
with one-meter diving
area, four racquetball
courts, an intramural
activity center containing three basketball/tennis courts
and two batting cages, a free-weight
room, a fitness
room, an elevated, 3-lane 1/10 mile walking and jogging
track
that circles the intramural center, a state-of-the-art athletic
training center, and a 25-foot climbing
wall. It also houses 14 separate locker rooms, seven classrooms,
a physical laboratory area, and the athletic offices.
The RWC is one of IWU's award-winning buildings. At the 2000
annual meeting of the Indiana Associated Builders and Contractors,
IWU and its architect were given ABC's Award of Honor for design
excellence in the renovation and expansion work performed on
this structure.

From just inside the front doors of the RWC you can take in
the glass features of the facilities:
- 33-foot tall sloped glass ceiling
- glass walled free weight room
- glass walled fitness room
- 25-foot wide trophy case
- glass roof over the 25-foot tall climbing wall
- glass observation area around the natatorium
- 3 glass-walled racquetball courts
- glass-walled conference room
- glass-walled lobby to the athletic offices
