Collections of Psalms and
Hymns
John Wesley was a prolific writer, publishing 233 in
his life time. At Wesley’s feet is arguably his most famous
contribution to Methodism, “Collections of Psalms and
Hymns.” Originally published 1737 in Charles-Town, Georgia
during his two-year pastorate in Savannah, the book has been
revised over thirty times and provided a standard for worship
among Methodists for over a century in America and New England.
