The Indiana Wesleyan University School of Nursing offers a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Freshman pre-nursing majors must obtain at least a “C” in four science courses, complete 29 semester hours, pass the University’s math competency requirement, and have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA in order to progress. Students may apply to the nursing major as freshmen when they have met these requirements. Students are admitted to the major twice a year. Transfer students should contact the School of Nursing to have science and nursing courses evaluated for transfer.

The School of Nursing also offers a Transition to Nursing program for individuals who currently hold a bachelor’s degree in another field from any accredited institution of higher learning and are interested in becoming a nurse.

The transcultural experience is one of the unique features of Indiana Wesleyan University's nursing program. Each student takes a transcultural theory course and participates in a transcultural practicum. This practicum could consist of working with an inner-city clinic, a health care center in an emerging nation, or a subculture in North America.

Anyone interested in visiting Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Nursing should contact the Admissions Department at 800-332-6901 to set up a time to visit campus.
