Who is Brian Lewis?
I am someone with diametrically opposed dispositions. First, I love being with people of all ages and listening as they reminisce and relate the stories that have shaped their lives. If there is a party going on, I want to be a part of it. At the same time, I have a side of me that relishes alone time where I can contemplate and evaluate pertinent issues. I love to travel, camp, play sports, and spend time with my family. I am blessed with three wonderful grandchildren!
What I bring to Indiana Wesleyan University
I managed my own financial services business for 16 years. That experience gave me an opportunity to be entrepreneurial and imaginative in developing successful business strategies. More importantly, it gave me the training and understanding to listen to the needs of clients. My focus was, and still is, to address and solve the concerns of others.
What I do for fun
At this point in my life, my fun is all about spending time with my three grandchildren. There is nothing more satisfying to me than to feel those little arms around my neck, hugging me and telling me they love me. However, in the summer I do enjoy spending time in the yard working. I have three acres of wooded land and I find it therapeutic to get on my John Deere tractor and tidy up the property.
My favorite scripture
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" -Jeremiah 29:11
