IWU offers one of the very few Pre-Art Therapy undergraduate programs in the entire United States. In this program you will get some of the very best of both our Fine Art program and our Psychology program. This will give you both practical and theoretical foundations for any art therapy grad school in the nation, and for a meaningful practice of your own.

Biography

Dr. Fratzke and her husband have taught at IWU over 25 years, and raised their two daughters here. She was raised an Indiana farm girl. They have four grandsons. She has taught in the psychology department and been active in the Christian Association for Psychological Studies. She also now chairs the Division of Behavioral Sciences. Hobbies vary from kayaking, biking, and camping to reading historical novels, playing the piano, or constructing stained glass art. Dr. Fratzke also served as director of faculty development at IWU for 12 years.

Interests

Dr. Fratzke is interested in child development issues such as faith development and attachment; V. Frankl and the psychology of hope; and forgiveness research. She has presented internationally and/or published in all three areas, and continues to study these areas, as well as work in the integration of faith and learning.
