Our English and Writing faculty are largely PhD-prepared with appropriately diverse areas of expertise in all areas of literature and language. They are excellent teachers who are also nationally and internationally recognized writers, lecturers, and editors. They believe in learning with their students and in mentoring them in exploring language and literature as Christian scholars.

Bradley Spaulding; MA Asst Prof; English brad.spaulding@indwes.edu Department - English Division - Modern Language and Literature


Professor Spaulding grew up on a dairy farm in northwest Wisconsin and spent a portion of his adult life working in the dairy industry before moving into academe. His wife, Laura, and he still enjoy country living with their two children outside Wabash, Indiana.

  • M.A., 2003, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire


Currently, Professor Spaulding is completing a Ph.D. in English (Literature) at Ball State University.

His research interests include the following:

  • Ecology in 17th and 18th Cent. British Literature
  • Representation of Landscapes
  • Tree of Life, Forestry, and Botany
