Residence Life

The mission of Residence Life is to partner in the education of our resident students through fostering purposeful community, life-changing learning, and holistic development in a Christ-centered environment.

Because of our commitment to being a Christ-centered academic community, Indiana Wesleyan University takes great care in creating an environment that achieves that mission.

Our primary goal is to ensure students a supportive yet challenging place to live. Residence hall living can be the strongest impetus to a student's personal growth - growth that is essential to the university experience and the future.

Learning and Growing with IWU

The Residence Life Learning Objectives (RLLOs) define broad areas in which the Residence Life staff desire to see residents learn and grow during their time living in our residence halls and apartments, whether that is for a single semester or their entire college career.

  • Community Living: As students participate in residential communities, they will be challenged and supported in developing authentic, caring relationships in varied community contexts.
  • Identity Development and Personal Well-Being: As students participate in residential communities, they will be challenged and supported in discovering and valuing their unique design: body, heart, soul and mind.
  • Spiritual Formation: As students participate in residential communities, they will be challenged and supported in exploring and developing their spiritual lives and relationships with God.
  • Learning and Life Application: As students participate in residential communities, they will be challenged and supported in becoming competent and engaged learners, leaders and contributors to the kingdom of God, during and after their college experience.
  • Global and Civic Responsibility: As students participate in residential communities, they will be challenged and supported in expanding their awareness of global and societal concerns, in their desire to actively respond, and in their ability to bring restoration to God's world.
