    IWU’s Merrillville Education and Conference Center is centrally located at Exit 253 off of I-65 (Merrillville/Valparaiso exit). The Center is approximately 40 minutes from downtown Chicago.

    From I-65, take Exit 253 and turn west (right if southbound or left if northbound) and go to Rhode Island Street (Shell Gas Station on corner). Turn left (south) onto Rhode Island Street (sometimes called East 81st Place) and follow the curve of the frontage road. Rhode Island Street will turn into Georgia Street. IWU is on the left-hand side, next to the Holiday Inn.

    Business Hours

    Our offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our building is additionally open until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, depending on class schedules. Individual staff schedules may vary; please call or e-mail for an appointment.
