Introduction
Indiana Wesleyan University is an evangelical Christian comprehensive
university founded in 1920 in the Wesleyan tradition committed
to liberal arts and professional education. Through innovative
degree programs for adult and resident students IWU has become
one of the fastest growing private universities in America.
Over 10,000 students are enrolled in programs at 90 locations
and online leading to more than 60 undergraduate and graduate
degrees. IWU is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission*
and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges
and Schools. The College of Arts and Sciences is the residential
4-year program, within the University, offering more than
60 undergraduate majors. More than 2,500 students each year

In 2003:
- The University was recognized by the New Media Consortium
as a world leader in its innovative approaches to the use
of technology.
- The University was one of 12 independent colleges chosen
nationally to receive a Foundation of Excellence Award from
the Policy Center on the First Year of College.
- Two faculty members received Fulbright research grants.
- The average grade-point average of the incoming freshman
class was 3.5.
