In accordance with federal regulations, it is necessary for all federal student loan borrowers to complete the online Federal Loan Exit Counseling session. This online session will give you the opportunity to view your total student loan indebtedness, estimate your monthly loan payment, and create a budget. In addition, it will review your rights and responsibilities, interest rates and loan terms, and repayment options.
From the homepage, click on the Sign In button and enter the requested information. You will need your Federal Student Aid PIN in order to login. Select Complete Counseling from the menu, and on the next page click on the Start button beneath the Exit Counseling section. To add IWU as a School to Notify, you must select “Indiana” in the School State field even if you attended classes in another state or online.
The counseling session will present information one page at a time and ask you to answer questions to verify your understanding before moving on to the next page. Upon completion of the counseling session, you will be asked to provide contact information for next of kin and two references. This information is required in order for the Federal Loan Exit Counseling requirement to be satisfied. Be certain to click on the Submit Counseling button. We will be notified once you have completed the counseling session, and our records will be updated to show you have fulfilled this federal requirement.
If you have questions about your federal student loans, please contact the loan holder or servicing agency that works on behalf of the loan holder. This information may be found on the NSLDS Web site. Feel free to contact the CAPS Financial Aid Office for questions regarding loan eligibility or awarding. If you have issues that you have not been able to resolve through the loan holder, loan servicer, or the school, you may contact the Student Loan Ombudsman at 877-557-2575 or online at http://studentaid.ed.gov/repay-loans/disputes/prepare.
We pray God’s blessings as you move forward with your future plans.
