FLORIDA POMPANO (Trachinotus carolinus), also called Carolina Pompano or Cobbler
This fish has it all. Gourmets consider it a delight; both sport and commercial fisherman eagerly seek it.
Fun to catch on hook and line with artifical or natural bait; netted by commercial fisherman
and now being bred in ponds with some success. Average weight about 1 or 2 pounds,
but occasionally to 6 or 7 pounds.
