Official transcripts are required from all universities and/or colleges attended which must show the baccalaureate degree conferred and any graduate coursework completed. Indiana Wesleyan University will accept for its permanent file only those transcripts sent in a sealed envelope directly to IWU by the registrar of the attended institution(s). Official transcripts must exhibit the official seal and signature of the registrar. Transcripts that are stamped “student copy,” “issued to student,” or “unofficial” cannot be accepted as official.
College Transcripts from Non-U.S. SchoolsFor college transcripts from non-U.S. schools, secure a “Course-by-Course Report” from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES). Be sure to request that the report be sent directly to us at the address below. The evaluation must list course-by-course hours and grades.
Applicants should take the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Please request a copy of your GRE scores to be sent to the address listed below. (The Indiana Wesleyan University institutional code is R1446.) Additional GRE information can be obtained by contacting Educational Testing Services at 609-771-7670 or visiting their Web site.
Three professional recommendations are required from persons qualified to judge your expertise, character, and capacity for graduate-level learning. At least one recommendation must be from a professor and one from a healthcare provider. You must use the forms that are provided.
Please provide a 500 to 750 word double-spaced, typewritten document explaining your interest in the profession, what you hope to achieve by completing the program, and how your personal or professional background relates to your interests or goals. The essay’s content and the clarity of writing will be assessed as part of the admissions process.
Other aspects of an applicant’s record, such as educational achievement, professional experience and clarity of career goals should be reflected in a resume. Admissions decisions are based on an overall assessment of the adequacy of an applicant’s preparation and desire for the successful completion of a graduate course of study in Public Health.
