    Definition of Athletic Training

    Athletic Trainers are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians and other health care providers to optimize the activity and participation of patients across age and care continuum. The American Medical Association (AMA) recognizes athletic training as a health care profession. Athletic Trainers work under the direction of physicians, as prescribed by state licensure statutes.
