Additional Steps to Apply
Official transcripts are required showing the baccalaureate degree conferred and any graduate coursework completed. Indiana Wesleyan University will accept for its permanent file only those transcripts sent in a sealed envelope directly to IWU by the registrar of the attended institution(s). Official transcripts must exhibit the official seal and signature of the registrar. Transcripts that are stamped "student copy," "issued to student," or "unofficial" cannot be accepted as official. If the applicant completed less than 30 credit hours at the baccalaureate degree-granting institution, all previous transcripts will be required.
College Transcripts from Non-U.S. Schools
For college transcripts from non-U.S. schools, secure a "Course-by-Course Report" from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE). Be sure to request that the report be sent directly to us at the address below. The evaluation must list course-by-course hours and grades.
2. Test Scores
Applicants should take the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Please request a copy of your GRE scores to be sent to the address listed below. (The Indiana Wesleyan University institutional code is R1446.) Additional GRE information can be obtained by contacting Educational Testing Services at 609-771-7670 or visiting their Web site.
3. Recommendation Forms
Three professional recommendations are required from persons qualified to judge your expertise, character, and capacity for graduate-level learning. At least one recommendation must be from a professor and one from a supervisor/mental health professional. You must use the forms that are provided.
4. Writing Sample
Please provide a three-to-eight-page double spaced, typewritten autobiography discussing each of the following: your faith and your life journey; an event in your life that was a turning point for you, what your learned from it and how it has changed you; a characteristic about yourself with which you are not happy and how you would like that area to change it; the strengths, abilities, and desires you would bring to this graduate program.
5. TOEFL Scores
Submit a copy of your TOEFL scores if English is not your primary language. For more information about this test, visit www.toefl.org.
